Cheaper than the price of this touching billboard!
Amy Jo Lett, President and Hospital Chairman of VFW Auxiliary 5675, Odessa, Missouri, likes to “go big” on all she does and her passion for increasing veteran suicide awareness is no exception.
She was driving down I-70 near Odessa (which is 40 miles east of Kansas City) and wondered how much it cost to rent a billboard. She contacted Lamar Advertising Company, gathered rates and information, and presented it to her Auxiliary for a vote.
The Auxiliary approved use of funds for the purpose of a veteran suicide awareness billboard. Lett also received approval from the Veterans Crisis Line to use their logo and information on the billboard that an estimated 100,000 people see every week!
Auxiliary 5675 has received a positive response from fellow Auxiliaries in Missouri’s District 6, with some even donating to the Billboard’s funding. Auxiliaries in Action Change Mental Health.
